Heya Friends,
Just like that, we’ve been on Substack for a month now. How was your month? Slow? Chaotic? Hot? As I mentioned in the June’s version of these letters, there are big changes ahead. But first..
Thank you everyone who joined the newly launched Online Pick & Mix Book Club and the updated Online Project Buddies , I’m excited to see what books we come across together and where our projects will take us. Also special thanks to everyone who asked for an alternative way to get event updates. This Substack wouldn’t have happened this quickly without ya.

Pick & Mix Book Club
After putting a poll on Instagram Stories and Substack, ‘Last Sunday 12pm UK Time’ won. This has been applied straight away. Join the next one in July by upgrading to paid subscriber.
Creative Project Buddies
The 5 weeks has begun. There’s something special about doing our personal projects together and having a safe space to bounce ideas and ask for feedback. Join the wait list to be notified about the next cohort when available.
Sketch And Cafe
Sketch And Cafe is expanding! Partners Nathan Hackett and Catherine Booth are joining the team. We will start hosting this wholesome sketch and social club together in Manchester, UK, from July 2026. I met Catherine and Nathan back in 2023, they’ve been attendees of Sketch And Cafe since the 3rd and 4th meet up. Well.. well.. well.. look what we have here…
Why Now?
I’m moving abroad! That’s right, July will be the last official in-person Sketch & Cafe meet ups I’ll be hosting in Manchester, UK before I leave in August 2026. Nathan and Catherine wanted to see this space continue so when I asked, they agreed to run it with me whilst I’m on the other side of the world. Thank you Nathan & Catherine! You’re in good hands, Cat & Nath are both professional illustrators who has plenty of experience in hosting events.
Let’s Celebrate
Come and meet us in July :) To celebrate a new era, instead of being in a cafe, we’re meeting up in the park (picnic style) on Thursday 23rd July 2026 (let’s pray to the weather gods). Sign up, pack your sketchbook and drawing tools as usual but if you’re in that summer picnic mood, here’s your chance to bring a picnic blanket and your fave picnic drink & snacks too!
